The title comes from Gregor Guski's photo book of the same name, which serves as a guide to the exhibition. Here, Guski presents his view of Düsseldorf's contemporary art scene and portrays selected artists.
With a precise eye and artistic empathy, Gregor Guski turns his camera on artists and their workspaces. The Bilker Bunker is showing 15 works from his series “Die Szene” (The Scene), which portrays artists where their ideas take shape—in studios and other places of creation.
The photographs offer an intimate insight into artistic processes and reveal attitudes, working methods, and individual styles.
In addition, all 15 participating artists present one of their own works, allowing visitors to experience their current artistic output in its original form. This creates a multi-layered dialogue between photographic approach and concrete work, between process and result, intimacy and publicity.
The artists: Carolin Eidner, Alex Grein, Gregor Guski, Erika Hock, Hedda Roman, Roy Mordechay, Cristiana Cott Negoescu, Martin Pfeifle, Anne Pöhlmann, Felicitas Rohden, Natascha Schmitten, Juergen Staack, Angelika J. Trojnarski, Theresa Weber, Matthias Wollgast
