Old Walls – New Ideas

We are the »Bilker Bunker«: a non-profit cultural institution that promotes social cohesion through the means of art. 

For this purpose, we have transformed the massive architecture of the historic building into a free space for creative expression, without forgetting its original intention.

What was intended as a civilian shelter becomes a protected space for experimental art and cultural formats.

EXHIBITION SPACES IN THE BILKER BUNKER

Changing contemporary art formats and experimental cultural programs are launched on two floors of the bunker. Here, disciplines, positions and cultural actors are linked with each other in innovative ways. A lively, open exchange can arise, which emotionalizes, opens spaces and releases thoughts.

Artistic positions, questions and answers form a dialogue with the architecture and history of the site, which is special in every respect.
